In an attempt of adventurous robbery a gang of thieves snatched gold jewelry of more than Rs. 8 Lakh in filmy style from Purba Bazar of Kadamtala at 9 p.m. yesterday.
The incident took place at 500 Meter away from Uttar Kadamtala Police Station when Rubul Dhar was going back house after shutting down his shop at night. He had many gold ornaments at a bag in his car when he was going towards house. He was talking with owner of adjacent shop standing beside his car. In the meantime the thieves opened the back door of the car and fled away with the bag full of ornament.
Meanwhile shop owner Rubal Dhar got the sound of opening back door and started to follow the thieves. At the same time owners of adjacent shop took part in following the thieves. In the meantime the thieves succeeded to flee away with gold ornaments and cash Rs. 28,000.
On being informed police and TSR jawans on duty of market followed the gang. However the snatchers absconded in the meantime. The thieves fled away by two bikes.
Meanwhile police alerted different police patrolling parties on road. But nobody has been arrested according to the last report came in.
