Northeast India’s well-known healthcare institution GNRC Hospital conducted the Saturday evening OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club on 19 August for the benefit of GPC member-journalists along with their dependents.
Senior cardiologist Dr Sanjib Kumar Sangma checked the status of over 35 participants and offered free consultations to them.
They also got their blood pressure checked by Nurse Rila AP Kharmujai in the camp. Nearly 20% of the participants were diagnosed with high blood pressure and they were advised by the attending doctor accordingly. Mrinal Hazarika, the public relation officer of GNRC group of hospitals supervised the clinic.
The weekly camp which was organised under the series of ‘Evening with a Doctor’ programs was launched last year, which has been graced by practicing doctors from Apollo Chennai Hospital, Medanta-the Medicity Hospital, Manipal Bangalore Hospital, Down Town Hospitals, Dispur Hospitals, Wintrobe Hospital, Narayana Super-Specialty Hospitals, Swagat Super-Surgical Institute, Barthakur Clinic, Rahman Hospitals, Sun Valley Hospital, Sight First Eye-Clinic, MMC Panbazar etc till date.
