Girl’s State SM Cup Football: Sports Schools starts with win

AGARTALA:

Tripura Sports School in the Girl’s section started with a winning fashion in the ongoing State Level Subrata Mukherjee Cup football tournament as in the opening match today they defeated Gomati District by a huge margin of 4-0.

The tournament in the girl’s section started from today at Abhoynagar School field at Belonia through heavy rain.

In the afternoon today Health Minister Badal Choudhury inaugurated the tournament while among the other dignitaries Chief Speaker of State Assembly Basudeb Majumder and Dhirendra Choudhury, Secretary of State School Sports Board remained present at the opening ceremony. After that Basudeb Majumder inaugurated the match with a kick to the ball.

Due to heavy rain water stuck at various parts of the ground and both the teams failed to play their best. But still the spectators enjoyed the match.

Sports school girls were dominant from the start as in the 4th minute of the match Priti Jamatia scored the opening goal while in the 22nd minute Rupmati Jamtia scored the second one and in the 7th and 51st minute respectively in the second half Laxmita Reang and Srijanti Reang scored the other two goals.
