Police administration of Khowai is in dilemma by complain and counter complain after the incident of fire at a private brick kiln at Kamini Para village of Uttar Ramchandraghat Gram Panchayat under Khowai subdivision. Sources said that strong resentment is prevailing at the village at present.
According to sources some miscreants set fire at Ashirbad Bricks Industry on October 16 at night of Saptami puja. As a result house of the labourers, office of the industry were completely gutted. Meanwhile a delegation led by president of Tripura Brick Factory Association Gouranga Das visited Kamini para to take stock of the situation. After observing the destroyed house and office Das addressed a press conference before his departure.
The members of the delegation alleged that three miscreants of the locality including Rupak Ghosh, Krishan Ghosh and Sagar Sutradhar led others to set fire at the industry. They also alleged that president of BJP’s Yuba Morcha Rupak Ghosh demanded Rs. 16.8 lakh to the owner of the brick industry. The incident of fire happened as the owner refused to pay the huge amount.
Meanwhile the owner filed a case at the police station and police arrested Rupak Ghosh. At present he is at Khowai jail according to order of court for 8 days jail remand.
In the meantime villagers of Kaminipara expressed their resentment against the owner of the brick industry. They alleged that many agricultural land became barren land due to the brick industry. As a result the villagers have been affected during last 5 to 6 years. All water pipe line for irrigation damaged due to movement of heavy vehicle of the brick kiln. The miserable condition of the local farmers was informed to the former Chief Minister. But they did not get any response. After change State Government the affected farmers demanded Rs. 16.8 lakh to the owner of the AB Industry to get their compensation for least cultivation.
However the villagers said that there is no relation of their demand with the incident of fire. They demanded proper investigation and punishment of accused who were involved with setting fire.
