As the state Food and Civil Supplies department has launched the e-PDS system to bring in greater transparency in the department and in the governance as a whole, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday praised the department for the initiative and set it example for rest of the departments.
Regional Workshop on PDS computerization and reforms is held at Agartala Pragna Bhawan on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launching the workshop said that installation of e-PDS system shall now reduce complaints of divergence and other corrupt practices. “Electronic PDS will certainly end the corruption in the public distribution system," Chief Minister said today.
However, Consumers would be now able to get online information regarding their ration shops, availability of food grains and distribution of essential commodities.
The Northeastern states of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland have also participated in the workshop on Tuesday.
