Tripura Pradesh Congress committee president Pradyot Kishore Debbarman today urged the people of Kumarghat not to step in any lucrative offer or proposal of money but to think for the future while casting the mandate.
Speaking at an election rally in favour of Congress candidate Pragya Debbarma, he said, you will be given many offers--people of various political parties would try to buy you using the power of money and other varied alluring offers but you the electorates have to ensure whether the vote you are going to cast is intended towards a good future or against of it.
Justifying his behavior with the Pintu Kumar Debbarma in Khowai police station, he said, every brother should behave like this when something like that emerges before. It is the responsibility of the state government to ensure security measures of each and every woman resident of your state but what we have seen, the people in ruling party just after the incident got involved in mud-slinging rather talking about the real issue.
I want to ask Mr. Ratan Lal Nath, he added, why he and his people failed to ensure security arrangements for my sister. Every day, I got threat calls; almost daily I got texts full of slangs against me and my family and all of these people are identified political supporters but no proceedings have taken place.
Taking a swipe at BJP leader Sunil Deodhar’s comments, he said, if my sister gets married to a person whom she is comfortable with than what is wrong with the BJP leaders, such petty personal comments prove their lack of efficiency in politics.
Among the others NCT leaders Animesh Debbarma, Tripura Youth Congress working president Pujan Biswas, Congress spokesperson Hare Krishna Bhowmik and other district level leaders remained present during the programme. Notably, Pradyot held three consecutive rallies at Kumarghat and Kamalpur. The participation of Congress workers was also noticeable in number.
