In a colourful programme at Sukanta Academy Auditorium, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sudip Roy Barman conferred the seasoned surgeon with honor of excellence.
Addressing the function, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sudip Roy Barman said, Dr. Rathin Datta served the state for decades. His relentless service to the refugees during Bangladesh liberation war is an unmemorable gesture of him for both the countries—India and Bangladesh.
Criticizing the previous government, he said, though he remained a life time contributor in the medical field of the state the former government never ever even spelt a word in his appreciation. But it is the duty of our government to offer him, at least the appreciation, he deserves, added Barman.
Meanwhile, MLA Asish Kumar Saha, MLA Sushanta Chowdhury, Director Health and Family Welfare Department Dr. JK Debbarma, Director Medical Education Dr. Chinmoy Biswas were among the others who attended the function.
