New Lamkhum team of Nepalitila won the title of Darlong Youth festival cum football tournament organized by Central Young Darlong Association. In the final match today New Lamkhum team defeated Kanchanchara YDA branch in the tie breaker by 3-1.
The match held at Belkumbari school field where from the start of the match both the teams played dominantly but failed to score any goals as the match headed towards tie breaker. In the tie breaker New Lamkhum won the match by 3-1. In the prize distribution ceremony Education minister Tapan Chakraborty remained present.
Champion team has been awarded with prize money of Rs 12,000 along with trophy while runner up team has been awarded with Rs 7,000 and trophy. Dinthara Darlong of New Lamkhum has been adjusted player of the match while Jefri Darlong of Kanchanchara won the player of the tournament award.
While Blessing Darlong of Darchoi won the best scorer award and Old Lamkhum team won the fair play award. For the successful completion of the tournament organizing committee thanked to each and everyone for extending helping hands.
