CPI-M in Tripura opposes Govt.'s move on suspending TET examination

AGARTALA:

The communist party backed Democratic Youth Federation (DYFI) jointly with other wings including the student federation today opposed the Tripura government's decision of suspending the already scheduled Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) examination in the state. The Tripura government in its fresh circular has directed all concerned to keep abeyance the recruitment process of Graduate and Post Graduate teachers in this state until further order.

However, opposing the move today the DYFI and other students' body of the communist party staged sit-in demonstration in front of the office of Directorate of Education. The DYFI sate President Amal Chakraborty demanded the government to immediately withdraw the circular which is against the interest of unemployed youths of this state.

"When the candidates were preparing to sit in the TET examination scheduled to be held on February 24th this year, the government in its fresh circular has suspended the recruitment process and the examination. This is absolutely against employment in this state and this deprives large section of unemployed youths," Chakraborty said.

He alleged, "Ever since the BJP-IPFT government has come to power in this state, large section of unemployed youths are deprived at large due to the government's anti-employment policy which is intolerable."

Chakraborty however demanded the government to immediately withdraw the circular and resume the examination as per the scheduled date and also to initiate open more employment opportunities in this state.

The Tripura Teachers' Recruitment Board under the aegis of School Education Department in its circular dated 11th February 2019 undersigned by the TET examination controller Pratyush Ranjan Deb stated, "Selection test for graduate and post graduate teachers will not be held on February 24 this year."
