After long hearing District Judge of Khwoai District Court Goutam Sarkar ordered to send Ganja Mafia Debasish Das (Mana) for 8 days jail remand yesterday. At present Das is at Khowai Jail. He will be produced in the court on January 16.
Earlier BSF of Khowai border seized two luxurious cars with 140 Kg ganja on September 14 in last year. Later the cars with ganja were handed over to police. Police of Khowai Police Station filed a case against car owner Debasish Das under case no-106/2018, under section 20(b)(ii) (c)/ 25/29 NDPS Act.w.
Since then police is in search of Debasish (Mana). Allegation raised that there was an understanding between police and Debasish Das and he was not arrested in spite of evidence against him. After releasing news of at local news paper police administration started to review the case.
Police arrested him from a place at Agartala on January 8 after 4 months. After producing Das at court the investigating officer appealed for police remand.
