At last police of Kamalpur Police Station arrested one police constable in allegation of his involvement with drug smuggling. The name of the constable is Rajesh Ghosh. He is a dweller of Kandigram of Manik Bhander under Kamalpur subdivision.
Police sources said that the villagers of Kandigram informed police after making a cordon surrounding his house before day of Sankranti. Meanwhile Rajesh shifted the liquor bottles which were stored for sale. However police and local villagers recovered three bottles of liquor. Later police arrested Rakesh and sent him to lock up.
In the meantime villagers alleged that Rajesh was involved with liquor business for long time. He uses car for smuggling liquor. But police allegedly did not pay heed to complain of villagers. However Rajesh was produced to Kamalpur Court on Tuesday. Now he is at police remand.
