Congress joins ‘Satyagraha’ to protest Amit Shah’s ‘insulting’ remark against Gandhi

AGARTALA:

The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) lead by the state congress president Birajit Sinha has on Wednesday organised ‘Satyagraha’ in an aim to protest the ‘insulting’ reamer of BJP President Amit Shah against Mahatma Gandhi.

The satyagraha was organised in front of the Gandhi statue here at Agartala Circuit House area.

Amit Shah had reportedly said that Mahatma Gandhi was a 'chatur baniya', who knew that Congress was a tool to fight for freedom and suggested that the party be dissolved after Independence.

The Congress party President Birajit Sinha has slammed Amit Shah for using such phrase for Mahatma Gandhi. Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala demanded an apology from Amit Shah for 'belittling' the Father of the Nation.

"Amit Shah has belittled Mahatma Gandhi and the Independence struggle... He should apologise for slinging mud on the Father of the Nation and shaming the freedom struggle," Sinha said.
