The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday brought an allegation on government spending on BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb and Jishnu Dev Verma's party campaign in West Bengal and Tripura. "We have all evidence with us which finds the Tripura Government has bared all expenditures of Biplab and Jishnu's election visit to West Bengal," said Congress spokesperson Harekrishna Bhowmik today.
Mr. Bhowmik was addressing a press conference this evening. He also sought clarification from the government in the state in regard of baring these expenditures.
He said, "Despite being it an election campaign how the government in Tripura has become the source of expenditure for their election visit to West Bengal." Adding to this Mr. Bhowmik also alleged, "In fact the government has been baring all election expenditures of the duo - Biplab Deb and Jishnu Dev Verma while they were in poll campaign in the state."
Mr. Bhowmik later talked on the notice issued to the BJP candidates in Tripura - Pratima Bhowmik for West Tripura constituency and Rebati Kumar Tripura for East Tripura constituency for allegedly spending elections funds beyond the approved limit.
"This overspendings by the BJP candidates probes their strong influence on voters," adding to this Mr. Bhowmik hoped that the Election Commission shall take all necessary steps against this overspendings.
