Common Wealth Chess: Arshia loses in 6th round

AGARTALA:

After fighting hard till the last minute finally Arshia Das lost in the sixth round of the ongoing Common Wealth chess tournament at New Delhi.

This young girl from Tripura faced Master Sohani Lohai and with black pawn Arshia started to play in Sicilian defence.

At some point of time the match was turning to a very interesting situation but due to lack of experience she lost the match in the end which lasted long for almost 3 hours and in 45 moves.

At the end of sixth round Arshia Das has 4.5 points and also lost her hope for grabbing the title. But in the last round a win will take her to the top three in this category. Arshia was burst into tears after the match. While the other 4 chess players performed well today. 

In Under 12 section Subhranil Majumder, in under 10 section Soham Nag won while in Under 14 section Arunika Ghosh got by while in the under 16 section Parthajit Saha played draw.
