The construction of State Cancer Institute and LINAC (Linear Accelerator) Block-G is almost in the verge of being completed, expectedly within February next year, informed the representatives of the construction company while briefing the Chief Minister about the completion of the project at civil secretariat today.
During the review meeting there Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb took notes on the development of the project. 75% of the construction has been already done; the rest is going in a standard pace, concluded the representatives.
In terms of equipments, altogether 8 elite equipments are purchased and 6 more such equipments are arriving shortly, informed, Shamarjit Bhowmik, Secretary Health and Family welfare department. He also informed the gathering, since 2008 the cancer hospital of the state is known as regional cancer center and if all falls right and we could successfully install the facilities of LINAC and Cancer Institute, no patient in the want of treatment would have to go outside state.
Envisaging all the details he ascertained out of the meeting, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb directed all the officials to speed up the process. He directed the officials to keep close watch on the day-to-day proceedings and take initiatives to keep, Reverse Osmosis Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Fire Extinguisher and other relevant tools in the building plan. Higher officials including Chief Secretary LK Gupta, Secretary of PWD department Manoj Kumar, Director of Health Services JK Devbarma and SK Basu, official from the L&T limited, the construction committee attended the programme.
