CM lays foundation stone for International cricket stadium in Western Tripura

After the Guwahati the Northeastern states of Tripura has got the foundation stone laid here on Sunday for its first ever international standard cricket stadium in Narshingarh Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) ground.

The Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has laid the foundation stone in presence of other officials including the state sports minister Sahid Chowdhury.  

The Ram Kripal Singh Construction Company Private Limited has been entrusted with the project work of the stadium with worth Rs. 185 crore, said Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) President Ranjit Kumar Majumder.

However, while addressing the programme CM Manik Sarkar said, “The concerned construction company should maintain quality work for this and complete the project work within the given deadline of 2 years.”

Besides, he urged upon the Tripura Cricket Association to open an alternate ground for the students of TIT as the international stadium would come up in their existing ground in Narshingarh.

Currently the state Tripura has one stadium in the name of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. In an aim to attract international cricket agencies or organisations, the international standard cricket stadium would come up soon in Tripura 18. 38 acres of land in the TIT ground.
