CM calls clubs to handle drugs and women exploitation

AGARTALA:

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today appealed the social organizations to take on the charge against exploitation of women and illicit trade of drugs in their own jurisdictions.

“When the clubs and other such social organization come up with such activities or report such violations to the police, crime rate will certainly face a down-fall and the dream of an affluent Tripura will touch the feet of success” the Chief Minister said while inaugurating the golden jubilee celebration of Chalaman Sangha club here in the city.

The Chief Minister who was also accompanied by MLA Asish Kumar Saha, Vice-chairman of Bhupendra Chandra Datta Bhowmik Trust (BCDB) Bibhas Saha, Club President Sanjay Pal and eminent Journalist Pranab Sarkar also greeted the gathering with warm regards of “Vijaya Dashami”.

However, Club President Sanjay Pal, who also holds the position of Vice-Chairman of BCDB Trust, quoted the vote of thanks. Putting light on various activities of the club he thanked all the club members for their eventful participation in the club activities.
