Newly elected BJP member of Teliamura Municipal Council Nitin Saha selected as Chairman and Rupak Sarkar selected as Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council abiding by party whip.
At the same time three Members –in- council including Chairman Amrit Lal Das, Bimal Rakhsit and Dhiraj Choudhury took oath yesterday.
DM of Khowai District Pankaj Chakraborty administered the oath of secrecy to Chairman, Vice Chairman and three Members in Council at a formal meeting at the premises of Teliamura Municipal Council today.
On the occasion SDM of Teliamura Bhaswar Bhattacharjee, BDO Santanu Das and Executive Officer of TMC Takirai Debbarma were present.
Meanwhile DM Panakaj Chakraborty administered oath to 15 members TMC on January 18. Later Chairman, Vice Chairman were selected according to party whip. It is also mentionable here that all the members of Teliamura Municipal Council occupied by CPM submitted resignation after change of government in the state.
As a result by-election became inevitable. But no candidate submitted nomination as candidate for by-poll except BJP. As a result BJP candidates own uncontested.
