The alleged attack upon the Congress Candidate Pragya Devi this morning goes all wrong after the CCTV Footage of Khowai Police station shows the Congress President Pradyot Kishore Dev Barman hitting hard enough to a tribal man inside the police station at GD Room and later accompanied by Pradyot's supporter continued threatening him of dire consequences in presence of police and other security forces.
The CCTV Footage showed the tribal man identified as Mintu Debbarma being detained by the Khowai police suspecting him to be involved with the alleged stone pelting attack upon the congress candidate for East Tripura constituency Pragya Devi sitting on a chair inside the police station and later rushing to the police station Congress president Pradyot targeted the tribal man and slapped hard on him inside this police station.
Pradyot later coming put from the police station has alleged that under the influence of Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia also the IPFT state secretary this incident has come up. Pradyot said, "This tribal belongs to IPFT party and attempted to kill his sister Pragya Devi also the congress East Tripura candidate."
Meantime, Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia this evening held a press conference in his government bungalow and rubbished the allegation of Pradyot and said, "This tribal man do not belongs to IPFT party." Jamatia later took on Pradyot and said, "How could Maharaja take law on his hand by slapping this tribal man whoever he may me inside the police station?"
