The repatriated refugees from Mizoram who are staying at Damcharra in North Tripura will be able to exercise their franchise in Laksabha poll at Kanmoon Polling centre situated at Tripura – Mizoram Border adjacent to Damcherra on April 11.
It has been decided after long discussion in a meeting among administrative officers of Tripura and Mizoram and Bru Refugee leaders today.
Among the officers P.U. Krishna Mohan Uppu, Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram, PU H. Lian Zela, Joint CEO, Mizoram, Pi Manu Hage, Assistant Commissioner, Aizawal / OSD Election, Deputy Commissioner/ DEO Momit District, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mamit District were present from Mizoram. Besides, DM, North Tripura, SP North, SDM, Kanchanpur, SDPO Kanchanpur, OC of Kanchanpur Police Station were present from officials from Tripura.
Among the Bru leaders president of MBDPF Saibanga Reang, Lal Dunga Reang , MBDPF Naisingpara were present in the meeting.
The Bru leaders also demanded to provide food and vehicle for them. DM assured to provide vehicle for the voters.
