In what appears to be not a good trend for the state BJP, a state executive member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha—Sudipta Nandy today joined Tripura Pradesh Congress.
In the first ever, Booth level convention of West Agartala Constituency, the BJYM leader joined Congress in presence of AICC National Secretary Bhupen Borah and other PCC leaders.
The joining convention cum convention held at Congress Bhavan which was addressed by former president Gopal Roy, Vice President Pijush Biswas and State General Secretary Baptu Chakraborty and state Youth Congress Working President Pujan Biswas.
As much as 60 voters of the Ramnagar constituency also joined the party during the programme. Addressing the function, Borah said, the party is eyeing to do good results in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and to do so the organizations needs to be strengthen giving the first priority. For long years, he claimed, CPIM has ruled the state and now the BJP is in the ruling seat but the Congress has its own roots in the state, we just have to cultivate them well.
He also hailed, Youth Congress working president Pujan Biswas for organizing the programme which held for the first time in Tripura. Among the others, state secretaries of youth congress Arnika Saha and Tanmoy Dhar also attended the programme.
