In an incident of political clash one BJP worker injured seriously at Belonia at night yesterday.
Sources said that injured BJP worker Prasad Tripura is battling for life after referring to G.B. Hospital from Belonia Hospital. He is a resident of Uttar Sonaicherri of Belonia.
Meanwhile police arrested five accused CPI-M supporters in connection with the incident. However tension prevailing at Belonia as police has not arrested main accused Naresh Tripura. The court has sent the accused persons for three days jail remand after producing them at Belonia Court today.
According to sources Leftist leader, liquor addicted and cheat Naresh Tripura is the master mind of the attack on the BJP worker. But police has not arrested him although he is moving openly after the incident.
Sources said that Naresh Tripura started a political argument with Prasad Tripura at 11 p.m. on Thursday. Later on CPI-M workers Sarmila Uchai, Ganga Mala Tripura, Kanti Rani Tripura, Ranita Tripura and Prabal Tripura attacked and injured Prasad Tripura according to instructed by Naresh Tripura.
On being informed a large contingent of police led by ASP Amitabha Das reached to the spot and controlled the situation. Meanwhile Prasad Tripura shifted to Belonia Hospital and later he was referred to Agartala from the hospital. Police arrested five accused persons according to complain of Prasad’s father in the morning today. In the meantime large number of police deployed in the area.
Local Mandal president of BJP Tapas Baidya alleged that Naresh Tripura has been trying to disturb peaceful environment of the area from very beginning. Referring many allegations raised against Naresh from the period of Left Front Government Baidya demanded to arrest him immediately.
