The Legislator party meeting chaired by the Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Union Tribal Welfare Minister Jual Oram on Tuesday at Agartala state guest house elected the BJP state President Biplab Deb as the next Chief Minister of the state and Jishnu Debbarma as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
The meeting kicked off today morning where the BJP and its ally IPFT has met both the central ministers appointed by the BJP National President Amit Shah as central observer for the first meeting of the newly elected BJP legislator party held today.
The meeting perhaps has come up amidst the pressure being mounted upon by the IPFT chief N C Debbarma on BJP. Debbarma earlier demanded that the Chief Minister be chosen from the indigenous MLAs. The IPFT chief N C Debbarma has also demanded for proper representation of his party in the cabinet.
