Politics of the State got momentum centering broadcasting of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s speech by Prasar Bharati on the occasion of 71st Independence Day on August 15. Meanwhile CPI-M organized protest rally and meeting at the premises of Akashbani Agartala on Saturday in protest of not broadcasting Chief Minister’s speech Doordarshan and Akashbani on Independence Day.
Meanwhile BJP organized protest rally at 60 Mandals of the state in protest of anti National speech of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Independence Day at Assam Rifles ground in the afternoon today. Large number of BJP workers and supporters were attended in the rallies.
The central programme of protest rally organized in Agartala. The leaders and supporters of BJP paraded different streets of city in protest of anti-national speech of Chief Minister Sarkar. Vice –president of State BJP Subal Bhowmik led the rally at Banamalipur, vice president Ramprasad Pal led the protest rally at Ramnagar.
State BJP president Biplab Deb led the rally at Baghma Mandal, State secretary Pratima Bhowmik led the rally at Karbook subdivision and other leaders led the rally at different Mandals.
During speech the speakers strongly protested against antinational speech and objectionable comment of Chief Minister holding a constitutional post against another person who is also holding constitutional post.
Similar programme of protest rally was organized at Teliamura with initiative of Mandals of three constituencies including Teliamura, Krishnapur and Kalyanpur in the afternoon at 4 p.m. today.
At first the protest rallies of three Mandals paraded streets of the constituency and they organized protest meeting later on.
