After the Congress candidate for East Tripura constituency Pragya Debi attacked by some miscreants on her way back from poll campaign on Thursday, The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Rampada Jamatia was attacked and stone-pelted allegedly by the supporters of IPFT an ally to the BJP coalition government in Tripura. Jamatia alleged, "Despite security forces with me the attack took place and the goons targeted my car and convoy to pelt stone."
On being asked, Jamatia said, "The law and order situation has deteriorated in wake of the poll." He said, "The IPFT supporters slogging 'Rampada Jamatia' Go back' has attempted to kill me and started pelting stones on my car."
The incident took place on Friday morning in Singlabari area under Taidu police station while the MLA and his convoy was proceeding towards Taidu for election campaign in support of their party candidate Rebati Tripura.
The BJP MLA however later filed a complaint with the police station against the miscreants of IPFT for the attack.
