BJP involves former Tripura CM with Vardhaman Pharma scam, CBI to enquire now

AGARTALA:

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today involved former Chief Minister of the state Manik Sarkar with the Vardhaman Pharma scam which is to now enquired by the CBI. "Manik Sarkar is 100 per cent involved with this spurious drugs scam," said BJP Spokesperson Dr. Ashok Sinha today.

Sinha who  had been fighting for CBI probe into the scam for the last 4 years, but previous government did not agree, today said, "The CBI has agreed to investigate five years old multi-crore corruption in procurement of spurious drug in Tripura health department, which was earlier investigate by CID but could not bring out anything."

Last year, after BJP-IPFT government came in power, Tripura government sent the proposal to Ministry of Personnel and Training seeking recommendation of the case to CBI.
