The incident of attack on private doctor after two months of attack on Government doctor sparked resentment among people in Khowai town. Local people strongly condemned the attack.
The first attack was made on doctors working at District Hospital in the first week of March after announcement of Assembly poll result in the state. The second attack was made on a homeopathic doctor yesterday after 60 days of first attack.
Sources said that Physical Instructor Asish Das along with two companions attacked on homeopathic doctor Jagannath Acharjee when he was busy with patients at his chamber at Subhash Park which is heart of the town. He was beaten up by the miscreants.
On being informed the official members of Merchants Association rushed to the spot. But the miscreants fled away before arrival of the members of Merchants Association. Later they informed police. But police failed seek out the attackers after 24 hours of conducting raid at different places.
Besides, resentment sparked among the traders after the attack on private doctor. Meanwhile Subhash Park Merchant’s Association is considering going for greater agitation in protest of attack on doctor. Meanwhile the attackers are giving threat from an unknown place.
