Assam Rifles Opens Tennis Academy in Agartala

AGARTALA:

In order to infuse the spirit of sports, foster camaraderie and provide facilities to uplift the talent of Tripura’s children, a Tennis Academy has been started at Agartala by 4th (Manipur) Battalion of The Assam Rifles on July 30.

Honourable Governor of Tripura, Tathagata Roy inaugurated the Tennis Academy and witnessed the exhibition match with Mrs Anuradha Roy, the First Lady of Tripura. The event was attended by over 200 children from Assam Rifles Public School.

Also 50 specially abled children from Ferrando Rehabilitation Centre officers & men from the Assam Rifles took part in the event. The aim of this Academy is to provide skilled training & practice for tennis to the budding talents from various schools of Agartala and providing them the opportunity to become professional tennis players.

An inauguration match was played between the specially abled children of the Ferrando School & they were felicitated by the Chief Guest. The event was appreciated by everyone present. The Honorable Governor complimented the Assam Rifles for the commendable efforts in reaching out with such a cutting – edge milestone.

Definitely on act of generating positivity in the hearts & minds of the people of Tripura as 4 Assam Rifles together with ARPS, Agartala under the aegis of the HQ 21 Sect AR continues its service to the people of North East.
