The Annual Sports Festival of ICFAI University Tripura got off to a colourful start here this morning. 9th edition of the festival “ICTHALON 2K17” was formally declared open by Dilip Chakraborty, the Secretary of Tripura Sports Council. The inaugural ceremony was graced among others by Mrinal Kanti Das, the Deputy Director of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS).
Biplab Halder, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University, Tripura, presided over the inaugural ceremony. In his brief address, Halder reiterated the commitment of University towards fulfilling the aspirations of students and urged upon them to regularly participate in sports to enhance mental abilities along with physical development.
The Secretary of Tripura Sports Council Dilip Chakraborty said, students of ICFAI University were not only academically enriched but equally enthusiastic in sports. The Deputy Director of YAS Mrinal Kanti Das advised the students to practice swimming and Yoga on a regular basis.
BCA first year student of ICFAI University Tripura Mr. Sanjay Debbarma was today felicitated at the inaugural function for his outstanding performance to win gold medal in National Muaythai Championship.
