After DD refuses to air, BJP in Tripura protests CM’s I’Day speech, calls CM manner less

AGARTALA:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday protested the Independence Day delivered by the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on August 15 which was then refused to be aired in Doordarshan channel. Voicing against this the BJP under the leadership of MLA Ashish Kumar Saha today staged a rally in and around the capital town of Agartala and called the speech to be insult to nation.

Saha said, “The Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is simply manner less acted anti-nationalists always.” Adding to this he said that the Prasar Bharati has refused to air the speech after it was found to be politicised and that too on the eve of Independence Day.

The BJP said, “When the entire nation was celebrating the India’s Independence Day, the Tripura CM acting extraordinary man in white comes up talking tough against the Centre instead of talking about achievements and challenges.”

“Whatever he said it is highly objectionable. The speech during the flag hoisting has to be non-political,” said BJP state observer Sunil Deodarh.
