Three days long Adwaita Malla Barman Utsav ended at Kemtali of Sonamura today with lot of enthusiasm. Monday was the last day of the Utsav. On the occasion Prize Distribution was organized at Mukta Mancha of Kemtali in the evening yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion MLA Subhas Chandra Das said, expansion of education is essential to take the society forward. Adwaita Malla Barman had relentless effort to extend education for backward classes. The present state government has also taken initiative for educational and cultural development of all section of people including people of SC community.
He also mentioned about welfare programme of Central and State Government.
Eminent social worker Ratan Das said, Mallabarman was a great personality who had no attitude of discrimination. He struggled for social, cultural and economic development of under privileged people.
Among others Director of SC Welfare department Ratan Biswas, BDO of Nalchar Block Rupanjan Das, Chairman of Nalchar Panchayat Samaiti Sima Das, VC Premananda Das, BDO of Nalchar Rupanjan Das were present on the occasion. On the occasion prizes were handed over to the winners of vegetable exhibition, sports and cultural competition.
