In an attempt to improve quality education in the state in the line of Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Naitalim’ Tripura University organized a 7-day Faculty Development Programme which concluded today.
The concluding programme was attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof V L Dharurkar, Dean, Arts & Commerce Prof Chandrika Basu Majumdar, Prof V Krishnaiah, Prof Satyadeo Poddar and course coordinator Dr Arabindo Mahato.
As many as 15 college teachers from various B Ed colleges attended the programme which included practical training on education system that Mahatma Gandhi felt would be best suited for India using three Hs- that is, Head, Heart and Hand.
The teachers during the last 7 days had the practical training by interaction in one school, one college, one village and with workers engaged in the Tripura University campus.
“This 7- Day programme was a part of a series of such events. It was the second programme. The first one was inaugurated by Hon’ble Gvernor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki last month”, said Dr Arabindo Mahato, course coordinator, adding that in January next the next event would be held in the varsity . The third event would be for 21 days.
The programme is supported by Mahatma Gandhi Council for Rural Education, (MHRD) Hyderabad.
