At least five labourers inured by falling down of wall when they were busy in demolishing the old building at old Uttar Chandrapur Panchayat at Beltala of Udaipur subdivision today.
Hearing hue and cry local people rushed to the spot and they rescued the labourers with the help of police. Later they were sent to Gomati District Hospital.
The injured persons are Swapan Das, Bikram Shil, Kanu Chakraborty, Nibas Laskar and Madhai Dutta.
Among them condition of Swapan Das was serious. Later four of the injured including Swapan Das were referred to G.B. Hospital.
Another source said that many of the labourers of the subdivision have no labour card. As a result the labourers are working in the subdivision with risk of life. In this connection, question raised with role of Labour department.
