11 per cent voter turnout recorded in 2 hours in Tripura

AGARTALA:

Polling for the state's 60 assembly constituencies are underway amidst tight security. According to the Election Commission (EC) report, 11 per cent voter turnout has been recorded till 9 am today. 

Meantime the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, also MLA from Dhanpur assembly constituency today morning and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Biplab Deb has cast their vote today morning.

CM Manik Sarkar along with his wife Panchali Bhattacharjee went to the Sishubihar Higher Secondary School to cast their vote.

Besides, the BJP state president Biplab Deb after casting his vote at Udaipur English medium school has told the media, "This election shall be historic for the entire state and I am hopeful that BJP shall sweep this election with majority vote." Adding to this Deb said, "Today morning PM Modiji and Amit Shahji has called me and blessed me prior coming to vote today."

However, EVM malfunctioning has been reported at large number this time from different assembly constituencies of the state, of which most of them has been brought under control.
