Kamalesh Datta, currently studying in the 9th standard at Kunjaban Kendriya Vidyalaya has won the Logo draw competition which has been held yesterday for the upcoming Agartala Marathon. In the competition several students from different school took part but the logo which has been drew by Kamalesh Datta has bagged the first prize and now his logo will be used in 10th ONGC Agartala Marathon which be held on April 30. Kamalesh Datta also will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 11,000 being the top in the list of the competition.
The result of this logo draw competition has been announced today in a press meet which has been held at Agartala press club today. In the press meet today among the dignitaries Pabitra Kar, Deputy Speaker of State Assembly, Dr Brindaban Bihari Das Kathiababa, founder of Agartala Marathon, Mohammad Saydullah Miah, Freedom Fighter of Bangladesh, S.C. Soni, ONGC Asset Manager, Mantu Debnath, Arjun Awardee Gymnast, Kamalesh Paul, chief advisor of Agartala Marathon, Manik Saha, Olympian, Sujit Roy, secretary of Tripura Olympic association, Amiya Kumar Das, secretary of TPWA remained present.
S.C. Soni, ONGC Asset Manager announced the name of the winner as the rest 10 participants also get prizes. On the other hand like the previous years, this year also baton will be taken to all districts of the state and also the baton will be taken to Bangladesh. In his speech Pabitra Kar emphasized on the popularity of the marathon as it has reached to its top level and also believes that this marathon will be a real exciting one compare to the other years. He also said that the importance of this marathon also became very much necessary as this will cure the people from all kind of diseases.
“Run for Health and Run for Unity” will be slogan for this year’s marathon and by unveiling the logo today S.C. Soni inaugurated the Marathon. In his speech he made it very much clear that ONGC always took active part in extra curriculum activities and as many people gather for the marathon this year, ONGC will extend their helping hands. He also said that by this marathon the relationship with Bangladesh will be stronger as this will be a good example of pure friendship between the two countries.
