She has worked with numerous international organisations including IUCN, UNDP, UNFPA and ICIMOD on many species including the Asian Elephant, the Gangetic Dolphin, the Arna or Wild buffaloes, and high-altitude mammals in the Kanchenjunga area.
It took the team members almost 30 minutes to carry out the rescue operation as they had to be careful not to cause the scared animal any further stress. The animal is currently under veterinary observation to ensure that it is in good health.
"It is unclear, and possibility of a nexus of wildlife trade can not be ruled out. Poaching in such a manner raises doubts. We are investigating the matter," Bhargava said.
